Chuletas - Mexican Burgers
Great tasting burgers, Mexican-style.
Recipe Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
2 cups chopped flat-leaf parsley
2 cups chopped onions
2 large eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup freshly grated Cotija cheese*
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 cups dry bread crumbs
8 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Suggested Condiments and Toppings:
Salsa
Guacamole
Lettuce, shredded
Tomato slices
Onion slices
Pickled jalapeño slices
Cooking Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl combine ground beef, chopped parsley, chopped onion, slightly beaten eggs, salt, Parmesan cheese, and pepper.
- Form into balls and flatten in a pan filled with finely chopped dry bread crumbs. Turn so the patties are covered on both sides and are about 4-inches in diameter.
- Chill, then grill or broil about 3 minutes on each side.
- Serve burgers on toasted buns with desired condiments.
Makes 8 servings.
*Parmesan cheese may be substituted.
