Marshmallow Snowmen
After a fun day of playing in the snow, kids of all ages can continue the fun by making these adorable snowmen they can also eat!
Recipe Ingredients:
6 full graham crackers
1 cup vanilla frosting
12 mini candy canes
3 (1.55-ounce) milk chocolate candy bars
12 large marshmallows
Food-safe decorating pens
6 pretzel sticks
6 (1-inch) red licorice strips
12 Ocean Spray® Craisins® Original Dried Cranberries
Toothpicks, as needed
Cooking Directions:
- To Make Sled: Spread about 1 tablespoon frosting on the top of a graham cracker. Place two mini candy canes, hook side facing up, evenly spaced on top of frosting. Top with a 2-inch by 1 1/2 –inch piece of chocolate. Place a teaspoon of frosting in the center of the chocolate; set sled aside.
- To Make Snowmen: Using food-safe decorating pens, draw a face on the front of one marshmallow (head) and buttons down the front of the other marshmallow (body). Break one pretzel stick in half and insert half into each side of the body marshmallow.
- Insert a 1-inch strip of red licorice into the top of the head marshmallow. On both sides of the head, place a small amount of frosting just under the licorice straps; add two Craisins® Dried Cranberries for the earmuffs.
- To Combine: Set the snowman body on the sled atop frosting mound. Add another teaspoon of frosting in center of body marshmallow and place head marshmallow on top. Tie a licorice scarf around the snowman’s neck.
Makes 6 snowmen.
Tip: Fruit strips can be substituted for the licorice and Craisins® can be used to create the face and buttons of the snowman.
