There are many recipes for charoset. The traditional Eastern European version includes apples, nuts, cinnamon, and sweet wine—ingredients mentioned by King Solomon in the Song of Songs as recalling the attributes of the Jewish people.
8 ounces finely chopped dates
1 finely chopped green apple

1/3 cup Manischewitz concord grape wine
3 tablespoons matzah meal
