French Apple Cobbler

French Apple CobblerThis is sure to become one of your favorite 'go-to' dessert recipes filed under 'quick, easy and delicious'. Serve with scoops of vanilla ice cream and steaming hot mugs of coffee.

Recipe Ingredients:

2 (12-ounce) packages STOUFFER'S Harvest Apples, defrosted*
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt

Cooking Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place apples in 9-inch-square baking pan. Mix flour, sugar, egg, butter, baking powder and salt in medium bowl until blended.
  3. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons over escalloped apples.
  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.

Makes 6 servings.

*Defrost escalloped apples in microwave on MEDIUM (50%) power for 6 to 7 minutes.
