Specialty Mexican Pizza
Topped with a trio of Mexican specialty cheeses, bring this spicy South-of-the-Border pizza to the table and let the fiesta begin!
Recipe Ingredients:
8 ounces ground beef, seasoned
1 (14.5-ounce) can tomatoes, drained
2 tablespoons taco sauce
1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup refried beans
1 (12-inch) pizza crust
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
1/4 cup corn kernels
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 cup shredded Wisconsin Queso Jalapeño
1/2 cup shredded Wisconsin Asadero
1/4 cup grated Wisconsin Cotija
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup prepared guacamole
1/2 cup prepared salsa
Optional: Garnish with crumbled corn tortilla chips
Cooking Directions:
- Sauté beef until brown; add tomatoes, taco sauce, taco seasoning, chili powder, cumin, black pepper and onion. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Spread refried beans on crust; spread ground beef mixture over beans. Sprinkle with cilantro, crushed red pepper, and corn if desired. Top with specialty Mexican cheeses.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 450°F (230°C) for 20 minutes. Remove from oven; cut into desired pieces. Top each piece with a dollop of sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Serve hot.
