Chinatown Red-Cooked Pork Treasures
An excellent version of the red-cooked pork served in Chinese restaurants.
Recipe Ingredients:
2 pounds pork strips, diced
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 green onion, chopped
Cooking Directions:
- In a large bowl or pan combine diced pork strips, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onion; mix well and marinate for 8 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the pork, discarding the marinade. Place in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the pork is just tender and lightly browned.
