Grilled Pears and Ham with Maple Glaze

Recipe Ingredients:
6 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoon yellow mustard
3/4 teaspoon ground allspice
2 large, ripe Bartlett pears, cored and sliced 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick
4 to 6 individual ham steaks*, about 1/2-inch thick
Cooking Directions:
- In a small saucepan, combine syrup, butter, mustard and allspice; cook over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- Place pear slices on grill over medium hot coals for about 2 minutes per side, basting with maple glaze during cooking. Remove from grill and keep warm.
- Cook ham steaks on grill for about 5 minutes per side, or until heated through and lightly browned, basting with glaze once or twice.
- Place ham on a platter and top with grilled pears. Drizzle glaze over top.
Makes 6 servings.
*Pork chops may be substituted for ham. Increase grilling time to 10 to 12 minutes per side.
