Ham with Honey Mustard Glaze
A simple glaze of honey, brown sugar and mustard dresses up this ham for a Sunday supper or a holiday dinner.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 (5 to 6-pound) fully-cooked ham
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons Dijon-style or prepared yellow mustard
Cooking Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Bake ham according to package directions or for approximately 20 minutes a pound.
- Meanwhile, whisk together brown sugar, honey and mustard. Thirty minutes before ham is done, remove from oven. Carefully pour drippings from pan, if needed. Score surface in a diamond pattern and brush with glaze. Return to oven until ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
Makes 10 to 12 servings.
Note: Directions are for a bone-in, fully cooked ham. Also called “ready-to-eat” or “heat-and-serve” ham. A “cook-before-eating” ham must be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C), approximately 18 to 20 minutes per pound.
