Slow Cooker Ham with Fruit Chutney
Tangy fruits cover this ham while slow cooking melds the flavors into a delicious change from the more traditional pineapple glaze.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 (3 pounds) fully cooked smoked boneless ham
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 (6-ounce) jars jerk seasoning sauce or fruit chutney (1 1/2 cups)
1 cup diced dried fruit and raisin mixture
1 cup frozen small whole onions
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Cooking Directions:
- Place ham in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Sprinkle with pepper. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over ham.
- Cover and cook on low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.
Makes 8 servings.
Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer’s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.
