Spareribs with Orange Barbecue Sauce
Pork spareribs with a zesty orange barbecue sauce.
4 pounds spareribs
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon pepper
1 (6-ounce) can frozen concentrated orange juice
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1/2 cup prepared barbecue sauce
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
4 green onions, chopped
- Sprinkle both sides of spareribs with lemon pepper; cut into small pieces. Arrange in a single layer in a large shallow baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine frozen concentrated orange juice (undiluted), ketchup, prepared barbecue sauce, butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, prepared mustard, and green onions. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Brush the sauce over the ribs, cover, and continue baking an additional 45 minutes or until done; basting and turning occasionally.
