Greek Burgers

Greek BurgersSeasoned with fresh mint leaves and lemon peel, these feta cheese-filled turkey burgers are served in pita bread—and are sure to be a hit!

Recipe Ingredients:

1 (16-ounce) package PERDUE® Fresh Lean Ground Turkey or Fresh Ground Chicken
1/4 cup loosely packed fresh mint (or cilantro leaves, chopped)
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
4 tablespoons crumbled feta cheese
4 regular size pita breads (5 to 6 inches)
1 medium tomato, sliced

Cooking Directions:

  1. If grilling, grease grill. Preheat grill or broiler.
  2. In medium bowl, combine turkey, mint and lemon peel until blended. Shape into 4 oval burgers with 1 tablespoon feta cheese in center of each burger.
  3. Grill or broil, turning occasionally, 10 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center registers 170°F (76.6°C).
  4. To serve, cut top edge off each pita bread. Place burgers and tomato in pita bread and top, if desired, with your favorite condiment.
