Philadelphia Steak Sandwich

Philadelphia Steak SandwichSautéed slices of onion, green bell pepper and thinly sliced roast beef are piled high in a French bread roll and topped with meltingly creamy processed cheese. (If you prefer, substitute the processed cheese with shredded provolone or mozzarella.)

Recipe Ingredients:

1 medium onion, sliced
1 medium green bell pepper, cut into strips
1/4 cup butter
1 pound thin roast beef slices
6 (8-inch) French bread rolls, split
18 slices Wisconsin Pasteurized Process Cheese

Cooking Directions:

  1. Sauté onions and peppers in butter until golden.
  2. Add meat; mix lightly until thoroughly heated.
  3. Fill rolls with meat mixture alternating with cheese slices (3 slices per sandwich).

Makes 6 servings.
