Porky Cheeseburger

No recipe image available.A loose meat 'cheeseburger' made with ground pork sausage, chili sauce and mushrooms, topped with cheddar cheese and served on butter-toasted hamburger buns.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 pound ground pork sausage
1/3 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons pickle relish
1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded Wisconsin cheddar cheese
6 hamburger rolls, split, buttered and toasted

Cooking Directions:

  1. Brown sausage in a heavy skillet. Drain off fat.
  2. Add chili sauce, relish, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Simmer thoroughly.
  3. When ready to serve, add cheese, melt and spoon immediately onto buttered, toasted rolls.

Makes 6 servings.
