Spicy Asian Ground Pork Burgers
Need a diversion from the plain burger? Try these delicious pork burgers, loaded with plenty of flavor and topped with an easy Asian-style burger sauce made with plain yogurt (or mayonnaise), soy sauce and garlic chile paste.
Recipe Ingredients:
Burgers:
1 pound ground pork
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tablespoon grated fresh gingerroot
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic chili paste*
1 tablespoon minced fresh mint
Spicy Asian Burger Sauce:
1 cup low-fat plain yogurt or mayonnaise
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic chili paste
4 sandwich buns, split and grill-toasted
Cooking Directions:
- For Burgers: Mix together all ingredients; form into 4 patties. Grill over medium-hot coals, turning once, about 5 to 6 minutes per side. Serve on grill-toasted buns with the sauce.
- For Spicy Asian Burger Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Refrigerate any unused portion of sauce made with yogurt for up to 1 week, or if made with mayonnaise, it will keep for weeks in the refrigerator.
Makes 4 servings.
