Spicy Asian Ground Pork Burgers

Spicy Asian Ground Pork BurgersNeed a diversion from the plain burger? Try these delicious pork burgers, loaded with plenty of flavor and topped with an easy Asian-style burger sauce made with plain yogurt (or mayonnaise), soy sauce and garlic chile paste.

Recipe Ingredients:

Burgers:
1 pound ground pork
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tablespoon grated fresh gingerroot
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic chili paste*
1 tablespoon minced fresh mint

Spicy Asian Burger Sauce:
1 cup low-fat plain yogurt or mayonnaise
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic chili paste

4 sandwich buns, split and grill-toasted

Cooking Directions:

  1. For Burgers: Mix together all ingredients; form into 4 patties. Grill over medium-hot coals, turning once, about 5 to 6 minutes per side. Serve on grill-toasted buns with the sauce.
  2. For Spicy Asian Burger Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Refrigerate any unused portion of sauce made with yogurt for up to 1 week, or if made with mayonnaise, it will keep for weeks in the refrigerator.

Makes 4 servings.
