Turkey Pizza Melt
Transform leftover holiday turkey into terrific tasting hot open-faced sandwiches.
Recipe Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup diced celery
3 cups finely chopped cooked turkey
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 (1-ounce) slices Wisconsin Provolone cheese
4 hamburger buns, split, buttered and toasted
Cooking Directions:
- Melt butter in large skillet. Sauté celery until crisp-tender. Add turkey and cook until warmed. Add tomato sauce and seasonings; simmer.
- Arrange toasted bun halves on baking sheet. Spoon approximately 1/2 cup turkey-tomato mixture over each. Top with a slice of cheese.
- Heat in 300°F (150°C) oven for about 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
- Serve hot.
