Smoked Pasta ShellsRecipe courtesy of Seafish, the UK Sea Fish Industry Authority.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 pound smoked haddock or whiting fillets, skinned and cubed
1 tablespoon butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 (12-ounce) jar cheese sauce
4 tablespoons frozen peas
2 medium tomatoes, skinned, seeded and chopped
5 ounces large shell pasta, cooked
Ground black pepper to taste

Cooking Directions:

  1. Melt butter in a small pan. Add onion and garlic. Cook 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add cheese sauce, peas, pepper and fish. Simmer 8 to 10 minutes, until fish is cooked. Season again and stir in tomatoes.
  3. Spoon fish mixture into each pasta shell and serve as a starter with a salad garnish.

Makes 4 servings.

Variation: If preferred stir small cooked pasta shapes into the fish mixture instead of stuffing large shells.
