Spicy Crabmeat Tacos
A combination of crabmeat and white fish give these tacos the flavor of the ocean. Seasoned with onion, garlic, salsa, fresh cilantro and chopped green bell pepper, these tasty tacos will hit the spot with landlubbers too!
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
18 ounces crabmeat, imitation crabmeat or cooked white fish, shredded
1 1/2 cups Ortega Homestyle Salsa
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
3 cups shredded romaine lettuce
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup peeled, seeded and finely chopped cucumber
12 (6-inch) corn or flour tortillas, warmed
Lime wedges for accompaniment
- Heat oil in large skillet; add onion and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender. Stir in crabmeat, salsa and cilantro; cook until just heated through.
- Combine lettuce, bell pepper and cucumber in medium bowl.
- Fill warm tortillas with crabmeat mixture and lettuce mixture. Serve immediately.
