Tuna Steaks with Red Onion

Recipe Ingredients:
4 tablespoons vegetable oil - divided use
2 medium red onions, sliced into rings
2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
5 ounces red wine
2 (6-ounce) tuna steaks
Cooking Directions:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a saucepan. Add the onion and sprinkle with the sugar. Stir well. Add the vinegar and wine. Bring to the boil; simmer gently until all the liquid is absorbed.
- Meanwhile, heat the remaining oil in a griddle pan or frying pan. Cook the tuna steaks for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
- Serve the tuna topped with the onion, accompanied by creamy mash and snow peas, if desired.
Makes 4 servings.
