Tiffany's Green Beans with Bacon
This recipe turns frozen green beans into one fabulous side dish that your family will ask for again and again.
8 strips bacon, diced
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 (1-pound) package frozen cut green beans, thawed
1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt, or to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Over medium heat, fry the diced bacon in a large skillet until nicely crisp.
- Add the onion and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until onion is softened.
- Stir in the sugar; continue cooking for 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved.
- Stir in the thawed green beans, season with salt and pepper, and cook until green beans are hot and cooked through.
Makes 8 servings.
